The Origin
I’d been running Bounce in Windsor for years. And the longer I did it, the more I thought about the communities just outside the city, Kingsville, Leamington, Essex, where people were either driving an hour for an appointment or settling for something that didn’t quite fit.
Kingsville has good taste. It’s a tight-knit community that pays attention to quality. I wanted to bring a proper, boutique salon here. Not a chain. Not a drive-by cut. A real appointment with a real artist in a space that’s yours for the entire appointment.

You’re not sharing your appointment with three other appointments running at once. When you’re here, the space is yours. It’s calmer, more focused, and honestly just a better experience for everyone.
Commission artists who own their own time
Our artists set their own rates. You see the rate before you book. With no add on service options and no tip expectation at the end; there’s no mystery about what your appointment will cost. They’re paid properly for their craft. Full stop.
Genderless pricing
We charge by time, not by gender. You book the service you need and you pay for the time it takes. It’s a more honest way to do it and honestly it should have been the standard all along.
Curl Specialists on staff
Multiple artists who specialize in curly and textured hair. If you’ve had your curls mishandled before (and if you have curly hair, you probably have) this is the place to come.

I have made every mistake this industry makes possible. I’ve run the packed schedule, done the double booking, worked the model that burns everyone out eventually. I know exactly what I was trying to get away from when I built this.
Fox and Hare is my second salon and although I am proud of both of them, this one has a special meaning for me. The chance to start with the model that I always wish I had when I started in this profession. Now the model makes sense, the artists are valued, and the clients can feel the difference the minute they walk in.
